FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Baltimore, MD) – December 16, 2024 – Peake Movement, a clinic offering assisted stretching, mobility and stability training services, announces today its launch and partnership with Peake Physical Therapy. Peake Movement will offer services in Peake Physical Therapy’s Baltimore, Timonium, and Hunt Valley clinics. The Timonium clinic, located at 130 W Ridgely Road, opened this month.
Peake Movement’s services are designed to support clients in correcting muscular imbalances, restoring optimal movement patterns, and bringing the body back to peak condition. The team utilizes a combination of assisted stretching, corrective exercise, and mobility training. The stretching exercises relax and lengthen overactive muscles, activate underperforming muscles, and then integrate the whole body in the movements that tend to regularly cause dysfunction.
Peake Movement addresses issues like dysfunctional breathing patterns, muscular imbalances, nerve impingements such as sciatica, that may improve common conditions in the lower back, hip, and shoulders. The clinic also optimizes movement patterns in athletes to reduce injury and enhance performance.
“We established Peake Movement because we listened to many PT clients who expressed the need to move better and overcome soreness and injury. We wanted to address the demand for assisted stretch therapy,” said Dave Bender, founder of Peake Movement, and partner and co-owner of Peake Physical Therapy. “My team and I developed programs from our clinical experience using the research from top movement specialists in the therapy and sports worlds. Our programs in assisted stretching, active mobility, and mobility strength training were designed to meet our clients’ desires to move with more fluidity with comfort and confidence.”
Peake Movement’s first PT partner is Peake Physical Therapy, an evidence-based care provider offering integrated physical, emotional, and psychological rehab to better treat the whole person.
Four nationally certified mobility coaches will provide personalized assisted stretch practices in Peake Physical Therapy’s existing Baltimore and Hunt Valley clinics, as well as in their new 1,900 square foot clinic in Baltimore County at 130 West Ridgely Road in Timonium. The partnership will enable the mobility coaches to utilize the clinics’ equipment, machines, and compression therapy devices.
“Stretch therapy is becoming a more desired practice for people of all ages, athletic abilities, and walks of life. There are a lot of businesses focused on the athletic side of fitness or the medical side, however, there is a gap in between. We aim to fill that gap, helping to support people in correcting muscular imbalances, restoring optimal movement patterns, and bringing the body back to peak condition,” said Steve Goldstein, Operations Director, Peake Movement. “Our coaches are trained by manual therapists in the clinics, learning about the connection with PT and movement through skilled applications and hands-on techniques to ensure that our clients are experiencing more movement the way they always wished.”
Stretch benefits include enhanced flexibility, increased joint range of motion and muscle blood flow, pain reduction and relief, reduced risk of injury, faster recovery, correct posture, and stress management. Peake Movement stretch services enable clients to learn proper movement patterns and understand their bodies and limitations.
“We are thrilled to have the Peake Movement mobility coaches provide their expertise and share the skills our clients have been asking about for years. Our clients want to feel good, and with the active and passive mobility, stability, and assisted stretching exercises, the Peake Movement team will enhance our clients’ experiences and assist them on their journey to improve health and wellness,” said Frank Rosenthal, partner and co-owner, Peake Physical Therapy.
